One of the biggest reasons is buying or combining several Tupperware sets that come with different lid types, shapes, and odd sizes, says Smallish Home. This leaves you with some sets that fit perfectly into each other, while others might have conical bottoms that make stacking impossible.

Whoever first said “it’s like trying to fit a square peg into a round hole” surely battled with their Tupperware drawer at home.

When you’re trying to store dinner or pack a to-go lunch, and you can’t find a lid that fits any of the containers without causing a glass and plastic avalanche, it’s time to rethink your Tupperware drawer.
Thanks to this hack by StephPase on TikTok, you can update your cupboard or drawer in just a few minutes with some time, patience, and a very handy tool.

Organize your Tupperware drawer

Before you can organize your food drawer or cupboard, it’s time to take stock of your inventory. Between taking our Tupperware containers to work, moving around, combining our kitchens with a new roommate or partner, and everything in between, there’s a good chance you’ve lost a lid or container along the way.
To start organizing your Tupperware storage, you should first sort. While sorting is different from organizing, as noted by Andrea Dekker, it helps simplify the task at hand and its long-term maintenance.

Remove every piece of Tupperware and place it on your floor or countertops, as suggested by Smallish Home. Make sure there’s a matching container for every lid and vice versa. If you have many containers of the same shape and size to the point of causing confusion, consider donating those items.

Once done, you’re ready to place everything back in the drawer or cupboard.

Step up your stacking game

How you choose to put your Tupperware back depends a bit on the sets you own. Essentially, try nesting smaller containers inside their larger matching counterparts.
You might have to play around with them to find the right setup, depending on whether you have matching sets, different shapes, and so on. Don’t place any lids on top of containers when putting them back in the drawer.

Here comes the brilliant tip, courtesy of StephPase on TikTok. Instead of just storing these lids in the cupboard or in a separate drawer, consider a simple desktop organizer – the folder organizer. Typically used for storing folders and envelopes, these handy organizers can hold the lids in perfect order.

These are especially useful for drawers or lazy susans, where lids are more prone to slide. Choose between a traditional metal folder organizer like this one from Amazon or a more minimalist bamboo dish rack stand from Amazon for easy and hassle-free Tupperware organization.
